About the role
TL;DR
Lead policy communications for an AI research lab, shaping public narrative and managing media relations.
- •As a key member of Reflection's policy and communications team, you will lead in shaping the public narrative around open-source AI at a pivotal moment for the industry.
- •You will work cross-functionally to strategize and spearhead campaigns tailored for specific agenda items and audiences.
- •Key Responsibilities Shape industry news and policy debates through proactive campaigns and rapid-response communications.
- •Build relationships with policy press, Hill staff, and third-party stakeholders.
- •Draft and edit blog posts, FAQs, talking points, and video scripts.
- •Monitor and coordinate communications responses to fast-moving regulatory and geopolitical developments.
- •Requirements 7+ years of experience in strategic communication, reputation management or public affairs.
- •Experience driving policy-focused media campaigns and supporting policy, regulatory, or reputational issues, ideally in technology.
- •Established relationships with technology, national security, and policy press.
- •Sharp written and verbal communicator who can distill complex AI policy issues.
- •Exceptional judgement and comfortability working in a fast-moving, startup environment.
