About the role
TL;DR
Build and own Orchard's manufacturing operations and factory from the ground up.
- •Orchard is seeking its first manufacturing leader to build and own the manufacturing operation behind its rapidly growing fleet of AI-powered camera systems.
- •This hands-on role is responsible for turning engineering designs into reliable, repeatable, and economical systems at scale.
- •Key Responsibilities Design and scale the factory, including assembly processes, production flow, and safety policies.
- •Plan capacity, production, labor, and supply chain based on commercial forecasts.
- •Hire, train, and manage a team of electromechanical assembly technicians.
- •Own supply chain, procurement, inventory, and manufacturing quality systems.
- •Ensure production readiness and deliver finished systems ready for deployment.
- •Requirements 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, operations, or a related hardware field.
- •Experience building or scaling production for complex electromechanical products.
- •Comfortable leading technicians while remaining hands-on with processes.
- •Experience with procurement, suppliers, inventory, BOMs, and production planning.
- •Strong understanding of manufacturing quality, documentation, and root-cause analysis.
