TL;DR

Plan and manage stratospheric balloon flight activities and operations.

  • Near Space Labs is seeking a dynamic operations professional to join their Mission Planning & Control Team.
  • As a Mission Planner & Controller, you will be responsible for planning and managing flight activities for stratospheric balloon missions.
  • Key Responsibilities Plan, create, and execute flight trajectories.
  • Evaluate and interpret weather for capture missions and make go/no-go launch calls.
  • Act as the in-flight operator for missions, monitoring and managing flights in real time.
  • Coordinate flights with appropriate air traffic control entities.
  • Requirements 2+ years experience in an aviation role (operations control center, pilot, dispatcher, FAA controller, meteorology, or related). 1+ years experience interpreting weather forecasts.
  • Well versed in US airspace regulation and airspace maps.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
