TL;DR
Manage complex monthly close processes and drive accounting advancements.
- •Deepgram is seeking an Accounting Manager, GL & Close to manage complex aspects of their monthly close process and drive its advancement as the company scales towards its first external audit and potential public markets.
- •Key Responsibilities Own critical-path workstreams for the monthly close, ensuring timely completion and proactive issue resolution.
- •Prepare and defend complex and judgmental accounting areas such as stock-based compensation, leases, and capitalized software.
- •Review established accounting areas, setting quality standards and providing mentorship to the Senior Accountant and offshore team.
- •Manage consolidation, close package preparation, and variance analysis for executive reporting.
- •Lead and develop the accounting team, including coaching, delegation, and future hiring.
- •Requirements 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with hands-on ownership of technical close areas and review experience.
- •Deep operational US GAAP fluency, particularly in areas requiring significant judgment.
- •Hands-on experience with ERP systems and accounting platforms (e.g., Carta, Ramp, Xero).
- •Demonstrated AI-native working style with practical application of AI tools in accounting workflows.
- •Comfort coding small scripts (Python, SQL, Apps Script) for automation and data manipulation.
