About the role

TL;DR

Design and manage mechanical systems for HaloBraid's braid assist device.

  • HaloBraid is building the future of haircare through exceptional engineering and human-centered design.
  • We are developing HaloBraid, the world’s first braid assist device, which helps stylists finish braids 5 times faster, flawlessly and gently.
  • Key Responsibilities Architect the design of mechanical systems and sub-assemblies from 3D CAD to production-ready parts.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, industrial design, electrical, and manufacturing engineers, users, and cross-functional teams.
  • Manage engineers, set best practices and standards, and strengthen our engineering culture.
  • Push for elegant and effective solutions, challenge status quo, and drive design forward.
  • This is a hands-on engineering role that reports directly to the CEO.
  • Requirements Experience with CAD and mechanical design of complex robotics or consumer electronics, and direct ownership of systems or subsystems.
  • Experience with all stages of the concept to production cycle (rapid prototyping, DFM, contract manufacturing).
  • Experience bringing novel technology to market.
