- •Mira Mace is seeking a Staff Engineer to own the technical quality bar for their team.
- •This role involves making critical architectural decisions, defining build vs. buy strategies, and developing the engineering harness to enable rapid and reliable development.
- •You will be responsible for setting standards in testing, observability, security, and deployment, while also hands-on coding and reviewing a significant amount of code.
- •Key Responsibilities Own the technical quality bar across architecture, testing, observability, security, and performance.
- •Make key architectural decisions for service boundaries, data models, and AI infrastructure.
- •Define build vs. buy strategies and evaluate vendor solutions.
- •Build and own the engineering harness, including tooling and automation for reliable shipping.
- •Lay the foundation for mission-critical systems and ensure reliability and safety.
- •Requirements Staff-level experience as a backend or full-stack engineer with a track record of owning critical systems.
- •Deep experience in AI/ML engineering, including building and operating LLM-powered systems.
- •Proven ability to make architectural decisions at scale and understand their consequences.
- •Strong judgment on build vs. buy decisions and infrastructure investment.
- •Experience setting and enforcing engineering standards on a team.
