About the role
TL;DR
Build the agentic development lifecycle for real-time voice AI.
- •Vapi is seeking a Member of Technical Staff to own and build the agentic development lifecycle.
- •This role will focus on creating a reliable system for deploying voice agents, connecting sandboxes, CI, verification, and background agents into a cohesive platform.
- •Key Responsibilities Map and instrument Vapi’s path from task to production, identifying constraints and shipping improvements to sandbox, tooling, or validation infrastructure.
- •Launch production workflows in Vapi’s internal software factory, providing background agents with necessary context, tools, and quality gates.
- •Own and launch Vapi’s platform for autonomous, background engineering, enabling agents to place real calls and iterate to verified results.
- •Requirements Experience building internal platforms, developer tooling, or infrastructure.
- •Strong software fundamentals in distributed systems, platform architecture, API design, CI/CD, and large-codebase workflows.
- •Practical experience with agent harnesses and coding agents.
- •Knowledge of designing secure agent interfaces, sandboxed runtimes, and LLM evaluation systems.
- •Fluency in TypeScript, Python, or Go, and comfort with cloud infrastructure.
