About the role
TL;DR
Installs, repairs, and services 3D printers and supporting equipment.
- •The On-Site Service Engineer installs, repairs, upgrades, and services 3D printers and supporting equipment for Velo3D's internal print shop.
- •This role focuses on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and rapid implementation of solutions to minimize downtime and maximize printer utilization.
- •Key Responsibilities Test, operate, and maintain 3D printers and related equipment.
- •Assemble and test mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and optics sub-assemblies.
- •Interpret manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to solve problems.
- •Repair equipment using hand tools and test instruments, ordering and replacing parts as needed.
- •Install and commission equipment according to specifications.
- •Requirements Undergraduate degree in an applicable field (engineering, computer science, etc.). 5 years of demonstrated experience in operating/maintaining complex machines, customer-facing field service, and hands-on repair/calibration.
- •Ability to perform independently, communicate effectively, and maintain a strong attention to detail and safety mindset.
