About the role
TL;DR
Design, build, and operate mechanical fixtures and test infrastructure for power converters.
- •Heron Power is building cutting-edge power electronics for the 21st-century grid.
- •As a Mechanical System Integration and Test Engineer, you will architect, design, build, and operate the mechanical fixtures and test infrastructure for medium-voltage power converters.
- •Key Responsibilities Design and build mechanical fixtures, wiring diagrams, and automated High Voltage connections for testers.
- •Develop physics-of-failure models for mechanical components and lead root cause analysis on mechanical failures.
- •Own the full test cycle for mechanical components, from test plan to data analysis and report-out.
- •Define and manage mechanical and packaging interfaces between subsystems.
- •Run IP, shock/vibration, and accelerated life testing hands-on.
- •Requirements Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar. 3+ years of industry experience designing mechanical fixtures, test hardware, or electro-mechanical assemblies.
- •Strong experience with 3D CAD (bonus for CATIA V6/3DX).
- •Experience with reliability modeling and leading failure analysis on mechanical components.
- •Comfortable running hands-on test execution and influencing design decisions during early architecture phases.
