  • Octopus Energy is seeking a Market Development & Flexibility Associate to join their fast-paced Flexibility-as-a-Service (FaaS) team.
  • This role involves working at the intersection of wholesale markets, utility programs, regulatory policy, and commercial strategy to drive the distributed energy revolution.
  • Key Responsibilities Develop and win new commercial opportunities, supporting business development, partnerships, and RFP responses.
  • Analyze energy markets to inform dispatch strategies, program design, and value analysis.
  • Support regulatory engagement, including tracking proceedings and drafting comments.
  • Turn ambiguous problems into clear analysis, sharp recommendations, and actionable decks.
  • Requirements 3-5 years of experience in the energy sector, ideally with distributed energy resources, DERMS, demand flexibility, VPPs, wholesale markets, utilities, or energy policy.
  • Strong quantitative and data analysis skills in Excel, with proficiency in Python, R, or SQL, or a strong desire to learn.
  • An interdisciplinary mindset to navigate commercial, analytical, regulatory, and delivery work.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
