Backend Engineer to build and scale systems for Lemonade's Home products.
- •We're looking for a backend engineer to help build and scale the systems that power Lemonade's Home products.
- •Key Responsibilities Build and maintain Home product features using microservices written in TypeScript (NestJS) Leverage our in-house autonomous tools to manage the full development flow
- •from setting up your environment to deploying services to production Collaborate closely with Product, QA, Analytics, Data, and ML teams within a self-sufficient squad to hit the squad's OKRs Take ownership of your domain
- •writing clean, scalable, production-grade code that holds up at scale Contribute to engineering best practices and help raise the bar across the team Requirements 3+ years working as a backend engineer BSc in Computer Science or Mathematics (or equivalent experience) Solid understanding of modern backend frameworks, tools, and architecture Hands-on experience with TypeScript or similar strongly-typed languages Experience working on production-grade projects with real performance and scalability demands Proficiency in leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate writing, testing, and refactoring code.
