TL;DR
Build and ship LLM-powered product features end-to-end.
- •Beacon AI is building an AI platform to make flying safer, more efficient, and more capable.
- •This role involves shipping LLM-powered product features end-to-end, from design to production, with a focus on reliability in a safety-critical domain.
- •Key Responsibilities Design and implement retrieval-augmented generation and tool-calling flows.
- •Ship APIs and workers in Python or TypeScript with clear contracts and streaming.
- •Develop chunking, embeddings, and indexing capabilities for various data types.
- •Create offline and online evaluation metrics for LLM features.
- •Implement content and policy checks, PII detection, and access controls.
- •Requirements Shipped LLM applications with user-facing features.
- •Strong ability to write production code, tests, and documentation.
- •Depth in RAG, embeddings, chunking, vector search, and function calling.
- •Mindset for designing evaluations and defining success metrics.
- •Awareness of cost and latency, with ability to optimize without sacrificing quality.
