- •Deepgram is seeking a Director of Research to lead their Text-to-Speech (TTS) program end-to-end.
- •This hands-on leadership role involves defining research strategy, making technical bets, and developing production-ready models.
- •Key Responsibilities Own the TTS research and model roadmap, driving advances in speech generation quality.
- •Lead research across neural audio modeling, prosody, expressiveness, controllability, and multilingual speech.
- •Build and mentor a team of exceptional researchers, holding a high technical bar.
- •Develop robust evaluation and benchmarking systems for speech generation models.
- •Requirements Deep expertise in modern TTS, speech generation, or audio generative modeling.
- •Command of the modern speech-generation stack and open problems in naturalness and expressiveness.
- •Proven ability to set research direction under uncertainty and prioritize experiments.
- •Experience leading researchers through other technical leaders and setting direction across sub-teams.
