Identify and evaluate grant applications for transformative AI initiatives.
•CEA is seeking an Associate Program Officer for the Transformative AI Fund, supporting early-stage work on transformative AI, including preventing global catastrophic risks and supporting fields like field-building and forecasting.
•You will work closely with the Head of the Transformative AI Fund to identify grant applications that advance the fund's goals, with substantial autonomy and the opportunity to shape the fund's systems.
•Key Responsibilities Investigate and evaluate grant opportunities rigorously, assessing theories of change, team strength, and expected impact.
•Communicate grantmaking reasoning transparently through reports, feedback, and public writing.
•Source high-quality applications based on strategic insights and networks.
•Collaborate with other funders and organizations, and manage relationships with grantees.
•Contribute to improvements in grantmaking processes and tooling.
•Requirements Deep knowledge of AI safety and/or AI governance.
•High agency and proactive initiative.
