TL;DR
Owns application security strategy, designing secure development and deployment processes.
- •Censys is seeking a Staff Application Security Engineer to own the application security strategy for how Censys builds and ships software.
- •This role involves designing secure paths, guardrails, and automation to enable rapid and secure software development and deployment.
- •Key Responsibilities Own and drive the AppSec/DevSecOps program roadmap, embedding security into the SDLC.
- •Design, build, and maintain DevSecOps tooling in Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- •Lead the integration of security into CI/CD pipelines for code scanning, secret detection, and policy enforcement.
- •Set the security architecture direction for AI/ML workflows, implementing controls for model training and deployment.
- •Partner with CorpSec on company security and compliance initiatives, including SOC 2 and ISO27001 audit readiness.
- •Requirements 10+ years of experience in Security Engineering, DevSecOps, SRE, or related roles.
- •Deep expertise securing Kubernetes environments and container supply chain protections.
- •Strong experience with Application Security tooling integrated into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, ArgoCD).
- •Strong grasp of cloud services (GCP preferred) and securing data pipelines and model hosting endpoints.
- •Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Crossplane) and scripting/automation (Python, Bash).
