- •The Staff Scientist (Genomics) provides scientific and technical support for next-generation sequencing (NGS) projects in a shared genomics or research support environment.
- •The incumbent applies foundational expertise in Illumina sequencing, RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq), and single-cell genomics to support intramural research programs.
- •Key Responsibilities Performs next-generation sequencing library preparation and sequencing using Illumina platforms.
- •Conducts RNA-seq and single-cell sequencing workflows.
- •Performs nucleic acid extractions from diverse biological samples.
- •Supports project intake, sample tracking, and data documentation.
- •Assists with basic downstream data quality control and interpretation.
- •Requirements Ph.D. in Genomics, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related biological science.
- •Demonstrated hands-on experience with Illumina sequencing.
- •Experience or formal training in RNA-seq and/or single-cell sequencing workflows.
- •Experience working in a research laboratory or core facility environment.
