Aircraft Mechanic responsible for building and managing an engine repair station.
- •Astro Mechanica is seeking an Aviation Engine Technician to build an engine repair station from the ground up.
- •This role involves developing internal processes for engine inspection and alterations, with significant influence on technical direction to enable rapid program development and validation.
- •Key Responsibilities Inspect engines for corrosion, wear, and damage, and determine restoration approaches.
- •Establish and refine inspection criteria and acceptance standards.
- •Collaborate with engineering on deviations from planned procedures.
- •Maintain high quality through documentation and traceability.
- •Train and calibrate other technicians as the program scales.
- •Requirements 5+ years experience in civil/military engine repair stations at an MRO facility.
- •FAA A&P or repairman certificate with experience complying to 14 CFR Part 145 class 3 powerplant rating.
- •FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) for major repairs and alterations.
- •Hands-on experience with IAE V2500, GE CFM56, or comparable turbofan engines.
- •Ability to interpret engineering drawings and maintenance manuals.
