  • Astro Mechanica is seeking an Aviation Engine Technician to build an engine repair station from the ground up.
  • This role involves developing internal processes for engine inspection and alterations, with significant influence on technical direction to enable rapid program development and validation.
  • Key Responsibilities Inspect engines for corrosion, wear, and damage, and determine restoration approaches.
  • Establish and refine inspection criteria and acceptance standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering on deviations from planned procedures.
  • Maintain high quality through documentation and traceability.
  • Train and calibrate other technicians as the program scales.
  • Requirements 5+ years experience in civil/military engine repair stations at an MRO facility.
  • FAA A&P or repairman certificate with experience complying to 14 CFR Part 145 class 3 powerplant rating.
  • FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) for major repairs and alterations.
  • Hands-on experience with IAE V2500, GE CFM56, or comparable turbofan engines.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and maintenance manuals.
