About the role
TL;DR
Controller to lead accounting, own monthly close, and build internal controls.
- •Mainstay is seeking a Controller to lead its accounting function and manage the monthly close process.
- •This role will build and enforce internal controls and serve as the company's primary authority on technical accounting and financial reporting.
- •Key Responsibilities Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- •Prepare and own accurate, timely GAAP financial statements and management reporting packages.
- •Design, implement, and enforce internal control environment.
- •Set technical accounting policy and serve as the company's point of authority on GAAP matters.
- •Own the external audit relationship.
- •Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred. 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller.
- •Strong working knowledge of U.S.
- •Advanced Excel skills and experience with a modern ERP/accounting system.
- •Prior experience managing and developing an accounting team.
