About the role
TL;DR
Lead merchandise planning, allocation, and inventory management to scale Babylist's operations.
- •Babylist is seeking a VP of Merchandise Planning, Allocation, and Inventory Management to lead inventory strategy and operations as the company scales.
- •This new leadership role will report to the CFO/COO and focus on strategic vision, operating standards, and systems for planning.
- •Key Responsibilities Define and develop the team's north star, including standards, operating cadence, and expectations.
- •Own the inventory strategy, including drop-ship vs. owned inventory decisions and SKU management.
- •Lead inventory health end-to-end, focusing on in-stock rates, weeks of supply, and working capital efficiency.
- •Establish Planning as an equal partner to Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Data & Finance in cross-functional forums.
- •Requirements Proven executive leadership of merchandise planning, inventory management, and allocation functions at a wholesale retail business.
- •Strong people management skills with a track record of building high-performance teams.
- •Experience implementing demand planning or allocation platforms.
- •Fluency in inventory KPIs and experience owning inventory incidents.
