TL;DR
Commercial Counsel to advise revenue teams on complex agreements and risk.
- •Checkr is seeking a Commercial Counsel to join their legal team.
- •This role will serve as a trusted advisor to the revenue organization, focusing on drafting, negotiating, and closing complex commercial agreements.
- •Key Responsibilities Lead the review, drafting, and negotiation of commercial agreements (SaaS, licensing, partnership, data provider).
- •Own deals end-to-end, providing practical, risk-based guidance.
- •Serve as a trusted advisor to Sales and Revenue teams.
- •Create and improve commercial templates and internal processes.
- •Research and analyze laws affecting the business, including FCRA.
- •Requirements JD and active California Bar membership. 3+ years of experience structuring, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements.
- •Working knowledge of legal issues in commercial agreements (liability, indemnification, risk allocation, data protection, privacy).
- •Pragmatic strategist who communicates clearly to non-lawyers.
- •Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment.
