- •Reflect Orbital is seeking a hands-on, action-biased Director of Permitting to establish the company's permitting function from the ground up.
- •This role involves inventing regulatory pathways and securing necessary approvals for a novel sunlight reflection technology.
- •Key Responsibilities Own end-to-end permitting and site-operating approvals for all Reflect Orbital locations.
- •Build the permitting playbook from scratch, defining precedent for a first-of-its-kind technology.
- •Engage with federal, state, and local regulatory bodies to determine operational requirements.
- •Build relationships with landowners, utilities, and local officials to secure operating rights and community buy-in.
- •Navigate emerging international space law and orbital/spectrum considerations.
- •Requirements 7+ years of experience in permitting, regulatory affairs, government relations, or a related field.
- •Proven track record of building a process or function from scratch in an ambiguous environment.
- •Strong relationship-builder comfortable engaging with regulators and stakeholders.
- •Hands-on and action-biased, willing to travel and push permits forward.
- •Excellent judgment in navigating ambiguity, politics, and competing interests.
