About the role
TL;DR
Build and evolve backend services for job fulfillment and platform modernization.
- •Taskrabbit is hiring multiple Software Engineer IIs for its Fulfillment organization, focusing on backend systems that manage job assignments to Taskers and ensure completion.
- •You will join one of two teams: Point to Point Fulfillment, modernizing a legacy platform, or Fulfillment Lifecycle, improving tasker matching using data and experimentation.
- •Key Responsibilities Build and evolve backend services for job fulfillment and platform modernization.
- •Retire legacy systems and migrate live traffic to modern platforms, or improve tasker matching and ranking.
- •Work with large datasets for migrations and matching algorithms.
- •Decompose legacy components into independent, API-first domain services.
- •Build and consume well-designed APIs and interface with ML models.
- •Requirements 2+ years building and operating backend services in production using languages like Node.js/TypeScript, Ruby, Python, Java, or Go.
- •Solid grasp of relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases.
- •Experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs in a service-oriented or microservices environment.
- •Strong problem-solving skills in complex, ambiguous systems.
- •A testing and debugging habit with care for reliability and observability.
