About the role
TL;DR
Lead MUSV platform sustainment, maintenance, repair, and training, bridging field operations with product development.
- •Lead the team responsible for keeping Saronic's Medium Unmanned Surface Vessel (MUSV) platforms mission-ready.
- •This role sits at the intersection of field maintenance and product development, directly informing engineering decisions with hands-on findings.
- •Key Responsibilities Lead scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on USV platforms (propulsion, electrical, hydraulic, hull systems).
- •Independently diagnose and troubleshoot complex system faults and lead repairs.
- •Develop and deliver platform maintenance training courses to military personnel and junior engineers.
- •Liaise between Mission Operations/Maintenance and Product/Engineering teams to drive design decisions based on field reliability data.
- •Requirements Bachelor's degree in marine engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field, or equivalent operational experience.
- •Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential as First Assistant Engineer (unlimited horsepower, oceans) or above, with an unrestricted STCW endorsement as Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch (OICEW), STCW Regulation III/2. 10+ years of experience in marine engineering, including maintaining propulsion, electrical, or mechanical systems aboard vessels.
- •Prior experience in a shipboard engineering leadership role.
- •Possess an active clearance or have the ability to obtain one.
