TL;DR
Captain to lead autonomous vessel operations, ensuring safe navigation and mission success.
- •Saronic is seeking a highly experienced Captain to lead the operation of their mid-sized autonomous surface vessel, Marauder.
- •You will ensure safe and efficient navigation, conduct mission testing, and support autonomous systems operations.
- •Key Responsibilities Ensure safe navigation and operation of the vessel, including during autonomous control.
- •Supervise onboard crew and collaborate with shoreside teams for mission success.
- •Plan and execute vessel missions for autonomous operating systems development and refinement.
- •Coordinate with port control, authorities, and stakeholders for operational approvals.
- •Lead safety and emergency response efforts and maintain comprehensive operational logs.
- •Requirements Valid U.S.
- •Coast Guard 500/1600T Master License of Self-propelled Vessels Upon Oceans (Unlimited Master's license desired).
- •STCW Basic Training, GMDSS Operator, OICNW, Medical PIC, FCC License.
- •Proven experience in a senior officer role aboard crewed vessels.
- •Strong knowledge of maritime navigation, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- •Valid TWIC, USCG STCW Medical Certificate, and passport.
