- •Rondo Energy is seeking a hands-on Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and develop hot air handling systems for high-temperature energy storage.
- •This role focuses on creating robust ducting, plenum assemblies, dampers, and air distribution equipment for demanding thermal-fluid engineering challenges.
- •Key Responsibilities Lead mechanical design of hot air ducting systems and air distribution components operating up to 1000°C.
- •Design, specify, and validate high-temperature dampers and louvers.
- •Perform thermal and fluid analyses, including FEA, to ensure performance under thermal and pressure loads.
- •Develop subsystem requirements and verification/validation plans.
- •Prepare technical documentation, drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations.
- •Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. 7+ years of engineering experience with a focus on air systems, industrial gas handling, or high-temperature process systems.
- •Proven track record of taking designs from concept through fabrication and commissioning for systems like dampers, louvers, ducts, and plenums.
- •Experience with high-temperature equipment design and materials (stainless steels, Inconel, refractory linings, ceramic fiber insulation).
- •Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (API, ASME, NFPA, EN).
