About the role
TL;DR
Build data foundation to drive product, business, and AI system performance.
- •Outtake is seeking a Founding Applied Data Scientist to establish how the company understands, measures, and enhances the performance of its product, business, and AI systems.
- •This role will build the data foundation to translate complex data into clear decisions and durable systems.
- •Key Responsibilities Own the analytical data pipeline and infrastructure.
- •Define and maintain the semantic layer in the product analytics stack.
- •Build canonical performance metrics for product and business.
- •Partner with Product and Finance on pricing, packaging, and profitability.
- •Work with Platform Engineering on internal AI performance metrics and evals.
- •Requirements 5+ years of combined experience in engineering, analytics engineering, or data science.
- •Strong proficiency in SQL and production experience in Postgres.
- •Experience building reliable data pipelines, data models, or analytics infrastructure.
- •Experience defining product and business metrics from first principles.
- •Experience working with modern AI eval frameworks or model performance measurement.
