About the role
TL;DR
Provide speech, language, communication, and feeding services to neurodiverse students.
- •Meliora Academy provides individualized education for students with autism and related challenges, focusing on academics, life skills, and independence.
- •As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide individualized speech, language, communication, and feeding services to students ages three to 22.
- •Key Responsibilities Screen and assess students’ receptive language, expressive language, speech production, oral-motor, feeding, and functional communication skills.
- •Collaborate with the AT Coordinator to select, customize, program, and recommend AAC systems.
- •Develop and deliver research-based therapy services for students individually and in small groups.
- •Create assessment reports, IEP goals, annual performance reports, progress updates, and service documentation.
- •Partner with families, educators, the feeding team, and other multidisciplinary professionals.
- •Requirements Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Connecticut State Department of Education 061 Certification and Department of Public Health licensure ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
- •Experience supporting neurodiverse students, including strong knowledge of AAC, feeding skills, and total communication approaches Current Safety-Care, First Aid, and CPR certifications, with the ability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 60 pounds
