About the role
TL;DR
Design and maintain advanced game systems and tools.
- •We are looking for a passionate game programmer to build and maintain advanced game systems and tools.
- •Key Responsibilities Design and architect robust, flexible, and performant modular game systems.
- •Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and cloud infrastructure strategies.
- •Ensure scalability, performance, security, and maintainability of software and server infrastructure.
- •Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand needs and define technical specifications.
- •Know and advise on coding standards and best practices to ensure high-quality and maintainable code.
- •Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. 8+ years of software development experience, preferably in the gaming industry.
- •Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#.
- •Strong understanding of backend/server software engineering with technologies like Node.js.
- •Experience with RESTful API systems.
- •Practical experience with cloud providers (AWS or GCP) and key services related to compute, networking, and managed databases.
- •Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) for deploying and scaling game servers.
- •Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly Terraform, is a plus.
- •Experience with non-relational databases such as MongoDB.
- •Experience with real-time multiplayer applications using WebSocket or Websockets.
- •Proven experience in creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
- •Ability to write clean, simple, and well-documented code that meets design requirements.
- •Experience working autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic team.
- •Solid experience with source control systems such as GIT or Perforce.
- •Experience maintaining continuous integration pipelines (gitlab CI or similar) is a plus.
- •Up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends in mobile gaming.
- •Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
- •Experience working with Agile, Kanban, or similar project management methodologies.
- •Bilingualism (French and English) is an advantage.
