TL;DR
Supervises high-voltage substation and switchyard construction for data center builds.
- •The Superintendent, HV leads high-voltage and substation field execution for a new data center build, owning day-to-day site operations in a high-stakes environment.
- •This role drives schedule, coordinates trades, and enforces safety and quality from mobilization through turnover.
- •Key Responsibilities Supervise construction of HV substations and switchyards, including major equipment installation and verification.
- •Coordinate daily with the serving utility on interconnection scope, clearances, switching orders, and planned outages.
- •Sequence and support testing and energization readiness with NETA firms and engineers.
- •Enforce HV-specific safety without exception, partnering with the HSE Manager on safety plans.
- •Own the HV three-week look-ahead and manage specialty subcontractors and testing firms.
- •Requirements 7+ years supervising high-voltage substation, switchyard, or transmission construction (69kV-345kV).
- •Hands-on knowledge of substation construction practice and major equipment installation.
- •Direct experience coordinating utility outages, switching, clearances, and energization.
- •Familiarity with relay and protection testing sequences and utility acceptance processes.
- •Uncompromising HV safety leadership and experience managing specialty HV subcontractors.
