- •The Fire Protection Engineer is a shared resource covering suppression, detection, and life-safety design review across Hut 8's data center projects, coordinating AHJ and insurer (FM Global) requirements.
- •This role keeps code, insurer, and operations requirements satisfied without compromising uptime philosophy.
- •Key Responsibilities Review suppression and detection designs for code compliance and FM Global data sheet conformance.
- •Own fire protection permitting interfaces, including plan submittals, variance requests, and inspection support.
- •Drive FM Global engagement across the portfolio, including plan reviews and field engineering visits.
- •Coordinate fire protection scope with mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
- •Support acceptance testing of suppression and detection systems.
- •Requirements 5+ years of fire protection engineering for data centers, industrial, or mission-critical facilities.
- •PE in Fire Protection Engineering strongly preferred.
- •Deep working knowledge of NFPA 13, 72, 75/76, 2001, and 855, and of FM Global data sheets.
- •Direct experience managing AHJ plan review and acceptance testing.
- •Insurer coordination experience (FM Global strongly preferred).
