About the role
TL;DR
Build Hilbert's privacy program and handle product/commercial legal work.
- •Hilbert is seeking a Privacy & Product Counsel to build its privacy program from the ground up, embedding it within product development.
- •This role requires fluency in US, UK, and European privacy laws and the ability to operate at startup speed.
- •Key Responsibilities Design, build, and run Hilbert's privacy program, including policies, data mapping, and vendor management.
- •Advise product and engineering on privacy-by-design for agentic workflows.
- •Own compliance posture across CCPA/CPRA, UK GDPR/DPA 2018, and EU GDPR.
- •Negotiate enterprise customer contracts, DPAs, and security addenda.
- •Requirements 6-7 years of PQE in privacy and product/commercial counsel.
- •Fluent across US, UK, and EU privacy law.
- •Thinks like a product person, not just a lawyer.
- •Experience negotiating enterprise DPAs and cross-border transfer mechanisms.
