About the role
TL;DR
Resolve electrical construction issues, manage RFIs and change orders on-site.
- •As the Electrical Field Engineer, you will be the person who keeps electrical construction moving when the field runs into a question the drawings can't answer.
- •You'll write and resolve RFIs, chasing down design intent, code requirements, and existing conditions so the field never sits idle waiting on an answer.
- •Key Responsibilities Identify, write, and track RFIs for electrical scope, ensuring clear documentation of the issue, impact, and requested resolution Own change orders end-to-end
- •spotting scope changes before they become disputes, documenting them, pricing them out with the team, and running them through to resolution and approval.
- •Work daily with the Electrical Superintendent, the design team, and subcontractors to make sure the paper trail matches what's actually getting built.
- •Review electrical drawings, specifications, and single-line diagrams to spot discrepancies, conflicts, or missing information before they become field problems.
- •Maintain a change order and RFI log, and report status regularly to the Electrical Superintendent and Project Director.
- •Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field 3+ years of experience as a field engineer, project engineer, or similar role on electrical construction projects Working knowledge of electrical systems, including MV/HV, switchgear, and UPS Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, P&IDs, and electrical specifications Experience writing and managing RFIs and change orders on a construction project
