- •Kin Insurance is seeking a Staff Analytics Engineer to serve as the technical anchor for an analytics engineering team, focusing on ontology design, semantic modeling, and establishing best practices.
- •This role requires deep expertise in data modeling and a strong understanding of business goals.
- •Key Responsibilities Own complex modeling and architecture, including ontology objects and dimensional/semantic models.
- •Act as a technical thought partner to product and business leaders, translating needs into technical plans.
- •Take end-to-end ownership of critical initiatives, ensuring data model consistency and interoperability.
- •Define and contribute to shared modeling patterns, naming conventions, and reference implementations.
- •Drive data-as-a-product expectations, ensuring ownership, contracts, documentation, and reliability.
- •Requirements 8+ years in analytics engineering, BI engineering, or data modeling roles.
- •Deep expertise in semantic and data modeling, including ontology-driven and dimensional models.
- •Hands-on experience with an ontology or object-based semantic layer, or strong transferable modeling experience.
- •Fluency in dimensional modeling for BI consumption (e.g., Looker/LookML).
- •Experience with data mesh, data-as-a-product, and domain-oriented architecture.
