About the role
TL;DR
Owns the development, qualification, and scaling of thermal management manufacturing processes for liquid cooling systems.
- •Etched is building hardware for frontier intelligence, focusing on inference workloads.
- •This role is crucial for developing and scaling thermal management manufacturing processes for their silicon-to-system products, with a primary focus on liquid cooling systems like cold plates.
- •Key Responsibilities Own end-to-end manufacturing engineering for thermal components, from NPI through mass production.
- •Develop, qualify, and optimize cold plate fabrication processes (skiving, brazing, friction stir welding, etc.).
- •Define process parameters, controls, and acceptance criteria for manufacturing methods.
- •Partner with design teams to drive design for manufacturability (DFM) for liquid cooling systems.
- •Lead process qualification and first-article inspection at CM/supplier sites.
- •Requirements 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering with direct hands-on experience producing liquid cold plates.
- •Expertise in at least two cold plate fabrication processes (skiving, vacuum brazing, friction stir welding, etc.).
- •Strong understanding of aluminum and copper alloy properties and metallurgical failure modes.
- •Experience qualifying cold plate manufacturers and running process capability studies.
- •Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
