About the role
TL;DR
Ensure consumer lending products comply with federal and state regulations and internal policies.
- •You will help ensure that our consumer lending products comply with federal and state regulations, internal policies, and our bank partner’s requirements.
- •This role requires creativity and a problem-solving orientation as you navigate new initiatives and work at a fast pace.
- •Key Responsibilities Assist in ensuring compliance with TILA, RESPA, ECOA, HMDA, FCRA, UDAAP, TRID, and other consumer lending regulations.
- •Monitor compliance with state-specific lending laws and support the development of compliance policies.
- •Review marketing materials and loan disclosures for Regulation Z and UDAAP compliance.
- •Collaborate with product and engineering teams to embed compliance into loan servicing and creation.
- •Assist in third-party vendor risk assessments.
- •Requirements Juris Doctorate and 7+ years practicing law, with at least 3 recent years focused on consumer finance regulatory work.
- •Strong familiarity with applicable secured lending, marketing, and servicing laws.
- •Ability to work with compliance monitoring tools and regulatory databases.
- •Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, creative problem solving, and strong communication skills.
- •Located in Northern California, with preference for candidates who can be in the office often.
