About the role
TL;DR
Lead SEC reporting and equity accounting for a frontier intelligence hardware company.
- •Etched is building hardware for frontier intelligence and is seeking a technically exceptional accounting leader to own external financial reporting and equity accounting functions.
- •This role will lead SEC reporting, equity accounting, and build the necessary infrastructure and controls for a public-company-ready finance organization.
- •Key Responsibilities Own stock-based compensation accounting, equity reconciliations, EPS and dilution calculations, and equity-related SEC disclosures.
- •Lead the preparation and filing of Forms 10-Q, 10-K, financial statement footnotes, MD&A, XBRL tagging, and other SEC reporting requirements.
- •Serve as the primary accounting partner for external auditors, maintain SOX controls, and evaluate new accounting standards and SEC reporting requirements.
- •Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of Workiva (or a similar reporting platform), building scalable reporting workflows and automating manual processes.
- •Requirements Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- •CPA required (or actively pursuing). 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant exposure to SEC reporting.
- •Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and XBRL.
- •Hands-on experience with equity accounting (stock-based compensation, EPS, APIC roll-forwards).
