TL;DR
Lead engineering efforts for an AI-powered recruiting platform, owning architecture, infrastructure, and team growth.
- •Distro is an AI-powered recruiting platform that uses LLMs to automate the hiring pipeline.
- •We are looking for an Engineering Manager / Tech Lead to own the architecture, AWS environment, and grow a small team of 2-3 engineers.
- •Key Responsibilities Own the AI processing pipeline, ensuring correctness, observability, and cost-efficiency.
- •Drive full-stack feature development across Laravel and React.
- •Manage and optimize AWS infrastructure (ECS, Aurora, S3).
- •Ensure SOC 2 Type 2 compliance through evidence collection and control remediation.
- •Lead and mentor a small team of engineers, providing technical direction and growth conversations.
- •Requirements 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience in production systems, comfortable with both Laravel and React.
- •Hands-on AWS ownership including monitoring, incident response, and cost optimization.
- •Experience with asynchronous job processing (queues, workers, retries, idempotency).
- •Production experience with the OpenAI API, including handling non-deterministic output and cost control.
- •Fluent with AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code.
