TL;DR
Ensures production schedule feasibility for mechanical components by managing material planning and supplier commitments.
- •The Material Planner, Mechanical is responsible for ensuring the production schedule is materially feasible for all mechanical components.
- •This role acts as the operational backbone bridging production planning, physical inventory, and strategic sourcing.
- •Key Responsibilities Run MRP and BOM explosions for mechanical SKUs against the MPS.
- •Maintain and refresh Clear-to-Build (CTB) coverage status.
- •Identify potential material shortages ahead of floor execution.
- •Share rolling forecasts with mechanical and fabrication suppliers and secure commitments.
- •Set and maintain item-level ERP planning parameters.
- •Requirements 2-5+ years of dedicated material planning or MRP experience, ideally with exposure to fabricated metal.
- •Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- •Solid working knowledge of MRP logic, complex manufacturing BOM structures, and ERP planning modules.
- •Comfort working directly with fabrication suppliers to communicate rolling forecasts and secure firm delivery commitments.
- •Advanced proficiency in Excel and data management tools.
