TL;DR
Owns internal data systems and pipelines, ensuring accurate and reliable data for reporting and AI tools.
- •Cortex is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own internal data systems and pipelines.
- •This role involves consolidating data sources into a single source of truth and building foundations for future data work.
- •Key Responsibilities Own data pipelines end to end: ingestion, transformation (dbt), warehousing (BigQuery), and delivery.
- •Audit, map, and rebuild existing data systems into a single source of truth.
- •Build and maintain dbt models with tests and documentation.
- •Establish data quality, observability, and reliability practices.
- •Own product analytics: instrumentation, data models, and metrics for GTM and product teams.
- •Requirements 4+ years of hands-on data engineering experience.
- •Proficiency with dbt, a cloud data warehouse (BigQuery or equivalent), and ETL/ELT tooling.
- •Strong SQL and proficiency in Python for pipeline and transformation work.
- •Solid data modeling judgment with a focus on data quality, testing, and reliability.
- •Experience mapping and rationalizing messy environments.
