Owns tax filing and payments for multiple agencies across thousands of employers, driving automation and modernization.
- •Check is rebuilding payroll infrastructure, making it easier for businesses to launch, grow, and thrive.
- •The Tax Filing & Payments Team is at the forefront of this innovation, automating and modernizing how payroll taxes are filed and paid at scale.
- •Key Responsibilities Own jurisdictions end to end: account prep, original filings, monitoring failed/late payments, and amendments.
- •File, pay, amend, and refile to exercise the system and proactively update filing specs as regulations change.
- •Balance tax accounts, reconcile discrepancies, and dig into root causes for complex escalations.
- •Log friction points and translate them into actionable requirements for the R&D team.
- •Requirements 3-5 years of experience in operations or a regulated environment.
- •Proven ability to ramp into new functions or domains quickly.
- •Comfort managing your own pipeline of work and prioritizing across multiple deadlines.
- •Track record of identifying and addressing broken processes.
- •Genuine curiosity about AI and internal tooling.
