About the role

TL;DR

Provide litigation and administrative support to United States Attorneys.

  • As a CGS Legal Assistant, you will provide litigation and administrative support to United States Attorneys, working under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal or Project Supervisor.
  • CGS seeks motivated individuals excited to contribute to government innovation and collaboration.
  • Key Responsibilities Provide direct legal support, including preparing and reviewing legal documents like motions, pleadings, and subpoenas.
  • Electronically file documents with state or federal courts, adhering to local rules.
  • Assist with trial preparation, compiling trial notebooks and witness lists.
  • Manage case dockets, track filing and hearing dates, and maintain attorney calendars.
  • Produce various written documents using MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Requirements At least one year of specialized litigation experience is required; over three years is preferred.
  • Experience reviewing legal documents, assembling information for trial, researching legal sources, maintaining file systems, and using legal software.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Hands-on familiarity with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
