- •The Health Care Aide (HCA) is a regulated member of the interprofessional health care team who provides ongoing client care.
- •This role involves observing, monitoring, and reporting on client status/condition, and delivering prescribed medications accurately.
- •Key Responsibilities Observe, monitor, and report on client status/condition, including changes in physical and emotional status.
- •Report changes in client status to the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- •Deliver prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure.
- •Maintain professional and ethical standards at all times.
- •Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent is required, plus graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program.
- •Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English is required.
- •Must be physically capable of managing the frequent lifting, transferring and repositioning of clients.
- •Active and current registration with CLHA required.
