About the role
TL;DR
Build and own the self-service data platform for biological datasets.
- •Bioptimus is building the first universal AI foundation model for biology.
- •This role focuses on building the self-service data platform that enables researchers and engineers to find, access, and process large multimodal datasets safely and efficiently.
- •Key Responsibilities Own the data & storage self-service layer, building and maintaining storage architecture and access tooling.
- •Build platform services that abstract complexity for self-serve data access and processing.
- •Work with object stores, modern storage formats, and design reproducible data workflows.
- •Contribute to IaC and CI/CD for the data platform.
- •Engineer security into the data layer, implementing access control and least-privilege access.
- •Requirements 3-5+ years of production platform or infrastructure experience with high ownership.
- •Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and hands-on with Kubernetes/Helm.
- •Solid working knowledge of object stores, relational databases, modern storage formats, and data workflows.
- •Familiarity with data orchestration tooling (Dagster, Airflow, Prefect).
- •Solid software engineering skills in Python with sound engineering practices.
