- •Adyen is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Java) to join the Payment Gateways team.
- •This role involves designing and building the infrastructure for Adyen's in-store payment experience, handling massive global traffic with rock-solid reliability.
- •Key Responsibilities Build, test, and deploy high-volume, low-latency Java applications.
- •Design highly resilient, scalable services with reliability at their core.
- •Drive engineering best practices and contribute to scalable architecture designs.
- •Define, implement, and monitor performance KPIs to identify and eliminate system bottlenecks.
- •Collaborate cross-functionally with global product managers and engineers.
- •Requirements 8+ years of hands-on experience delivering backend services using Core Java, web services, and SQL/PostgreSQL.
- •Proven track record of technical leadership and mentoring junior engineers.
- •Strong understanding of modern API frameworks (REST, OpenAPI) and API security best practices.
- •Experience with high availability, fault tolerance, and low latency architectural principles.
- •Customer empathy and a focus on end-merchant business success.
