TL;DR
Owns end-to-end tax workflows and agency communication for payroll partners.
- •Check is redefining how people get paid by building embedded payroll infrastructure.
- •As a Tax Support Associate, you will own a portfolio of tax agencies, manage end-to-end tax workflows, and ensure seamless tax filing and resolution for partners.
- •Key Responsibilities Own tax notice issues end-to-end across federal, state, or local agencies.
- •Communicate directly with partners about their notices or tax accounts, translating complex agency interactions into clear updates.
- •Act as the direct point of contact with agencies via portal, email, or phone.
- •Identify systemic issues across notices and escalate them to the appropriate teams.
- •Requirements 2-4 years of experience in payroll tax, tax operations, compliance, or notice resolution.
- •Comfort communicating with tax agencies via phone and in writing to partners.
- •Experience with federal (IRS/SSA), state, and local agencies, with the ability to research unfamiliar ones.
- •Organized and methodical approach to managing a portfolio of open issues.
- •Curiosity for edge cases and unfamiliar notice types.
