About the role
TL;DR
Lead the design and analysis of fusion engine components for Inertia’s power plant.
- •Lead the design and analysis of components and structures for Inertia’s fusion power plant.
- •Key Responsibilities Develop mechanical design and 3D modeling of fusion engine systems.
- •Lead mechanical design and thermal-structural analysis of key components.
- •Evaluate effects of cyclic heat flux, creep loading, and fatigue loading.
- •Conduct thermal and structural analyses and parametric studies.
- •Participate in design reviews and risk matrix development.
- •Support and mentor other engineers.
- •Requirements Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials, Nuclear, Structural or a related engineering discipline. 7+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis.
- •Expert-level skills in mechanical design and CAD.
- •Expertise in finite element analysis using ANSYS or Abaqus.
- •Knowledge of FEA and other spatial/time discretization techniques.
- •Familiarity with numerical material models for metallic systems.
- •Experience with alloys, high temperatures, high heat fluxes, and irradiation effects.
