TL;DR

Senior Embedded Linux Engineer responsible for building and owning connectivity software and firmware.

  • Verkada is transforming how organizations protect their people and places with an integrated, privacy-sensitive AI-powered platform.
  • The Connectivity Team owns strategically critical products like Verkada Gateways, Verkada Security Trailers, and Quality Sensors, touching embedded firmware, cellular modems, Linux networking, cloud backend services, and the Command Frontend.
  • Key Responsibilities Build software and firmware for customer-shipped devices.
  • Own the full engineering cycle end to end, including scoping, architecture, design, and development.
  • Debug and solve complex technical problems with a focus on reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with product management and cross-functional teams to ship features.
  • Mentor other engineers and contribute to other parts of the stack.
  • Requirements Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. 4+ years of work experience in an embedded engineering role.
  • Proficient in C, C++ or Go.
  • Experience owning SW features or projects end to end with production launch is a plus.
  • Experience with Embedded Linux and common low-level interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART) is preferred.
  • Experience with networking and wireless communication protocols is preferred.
  • Experience programming in Go and Python is preferred.
  • Basic EE skills for reading schematics is preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week.
