- •Checkout.com is seeking a talented and commercially minded counsel to join its Commercial Legal team in New York.
- •This high-impact role offers broad exposure to commercial legal matters, with a focus on drafting and negotiating complex agreements.
- •Key Responsibilities Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including payment processing, platform, partner, technology licensing, data sharing, and vendor contracts.
- •Provide day-to-day legal support to commercial, product, partnerships, and operations teams.
- •Identify and manage legal risk in a commercial context, providing clear guidance to stakeholders.
- •Develop and improve contract templates and standard agreements.
- •Advise on regulatory and compliance considerations relevant to payments and financial services.
- •Requirements JD from an accredited law school and admission to practice in New York.
- •Minimum of three years of legal experience, combining private practice and in-house counsel experience, preferably in technology, fintech, or financial services.
- •Demonstrated track record of drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements independently.
- •Strong commercial instincts and ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
- •Excellent written and oral communication skills.
