About the role
TL;DR
Build the data backbone for physical AI by creating robust sensor data pipelines.
- •Mercor is building the data backbone of physical AI, creating pipelines to transform raw multi-sensor data into validated, privacy-safe datasets for frontier AI labs.
- •This role involves ingesting, segmenting, pre-labeling, and packaging data at petabyte scale.
- •Key Responsibilities Build the end-to-end sensor data pipeline from capture devices to customer delivery.
- •Design automated QC to validate recordings at scale, ensuring timing, sync, and sensor continuity.
- •Establish dataset schemas, versioning, and provenance for clear system traceability.
- •Build shared processing components like privacy redaction and format packaging.
- •Integrate VLM-assisted pre-labeling and quality scoring into production workflows.
- •Requirements Strong production backend/data engineering experience with high-volume data pipelines.
- •Experience processing video or sensor data at scale.
- •Fluency in Python and comfort with AWS.
- •Genuine data taste and ability to identify anomalies in sensor data.
- •Comfort in ambiguous, fast-moving problem spaces.
