About the role
TL;DR
Build technical controls and automation to protect personal data using AI-assisted approaches.
- •As a Privacy Engineer on 1Password’s Privacy Engineering team, you’ll build technical controls, automation, and tooling to protect personal data across products and systems.
- •You will combine software engineering with AI-assisted approaches to improve privacy reviews, data handling, retention, deletion, and telemetry practices at scale.
- •Key Responsibilities Build and deploy agent-based workflows for privacy engineering processes.
- •Build AI-assisted tooling to help engineering teams identify privacy risks earlier.
- •Implement and improve privacy controls related to authorization, data scoping, and retention.
- •Integrate privacy tooling with engineering workflows and systems.
- •Improve the handling of logs and telemetry through classification and minimization.
- •Requirements Experience building and shipping production software in a SaaS or cloud environment.
- •Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (Python, TypeScript, or Go).
- •Experience building with LLM systems or comparable AI frameworks.
- •Experience integrating software with external systems through APIs.
- •Practical experience with privacy or data-handling concepts.
